Job description

Our client is a full-service law firm that has a technology specialist team going from strength to strength and due to a steady increase in the flow of work, they are looking to hire a Senior Associate in the team.

In this role, you will get hands-on exposure with software development and maintenance agreements, privacy and cyber security matters, consumer law, procurement, licensing agreements, fintech and e-commerce related matters as well as some exposure to corporate transactional work as it relates to technology. The team consists of a Partner who is at the forefront of emerging technology areas, two Senior Solicitors and a junior lawyer - they work collaboratively and enjoy this area of work.

This role is a chance to work with a good degree of autonomy, alongside a respected partner in the field as their 2IC and there would be the prospect to advance your career as well.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • 6+ years PQE with some experience in technology law matters. Ideally this experience has been gained in private practice, but those with in-house commercial / tech experience will also be of interest;
  • Good drafting skills;
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to strategically advise clients;
  • A demonstrable interest in IT law.
There is the ability to work a day a week from home in this role, as the firm embraces flexibility and you'll be working in modern offices. The culture encourages ongoing learning and development, and the team operates as an extension of the in-house legal team of clients they work with. You'll have the opportunity to get involved in some interesting project-based work and build your technical legal skills in a growing practice area of the law.
