Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to develop their admin career into junior Legal Secretary. Be the dedicated support to an employment law Partner. Take full ownership of the role and make this your own.

This firm has a collaborative and cohesive working culture. You will be coached and mentored by the Operations Manager who is extremely approachable and is keen to show you the ropes so that you are set up for success in this role. The Partner that you will be supporting builds rapport with their team, has great leadership qualities and appreciates their teams hard work and dedication.

About the Role:

Supporting the Partner and from time to time a small team of fee earners, you will be based in a team that is deadline focused and driven to exceed client expectations. You will be liaising with clients and assisting with their queries, where no two days are the same. Duties include:
  • General reception duties, answering incoming calls, meet and greet clients as well as general office admin
  • Word processing, drafting letters and documents as well as transcribing digital dictation
  • Diary management, inclusive of organising travel arrangements for both professional and personal matters for the Partner
  • Administration, filing and database management as well as assisting with documentation for court and litigation processes
  • Assist authors with end of month accounts and billing, as well as any other ad hoc office duties and administration
About You:
  • Previous experience within a law firm is preferred for this role, and may suit a junior office administrator / receptionist or float secretary looking to take a step up in responsibility in a role with growth
  • Advanced typing skills, this role includes dictation and therefore a typing speed of 40wpm minimum is required
  • Organised, methodical, and systematic in your approach to your work as you will be managing the partners diary as well as managing multiple conflicting deadlines at any one time

  • Team and client focused, willing to exceed expectations and be proactive
This role requires someone who is happy to 'muck in' and get stuff done with the ability to adapt to change, think fast and able to deliver on deadline. This role has room to grow in responsibilities and seniority so if you are looking for career growth,  this is a great opportunity, with ongoing training and development.

What's on Offer:

Not only will you be working with some of the top lawyers in their field but also a firm that boasts long tenure in their team with an engaged and fun working environment. You will also be rewarded with the following:
  • $50k- $65k + KiwiSaver per annum based on experience
