Job description

The Firm:

A modern and well established full service firm that is recognized for its natural affinity for success in both its people and practice. With a progressive working style, our client operates collaboratively as a team with scope for flexibility. This includes working from home 1 day a week and the opportunity to take file ownership and responsibility with partner support. As a firm that breeds success, they are dedicated to providing concise training that supports your progression and ongoing development within the team.

The Opportunity:

They now have the opportunity for a litigation Lawyer with at least 3 years experience to advance their advocacy skills within a high performing team under the mentorship of a highly experienced partner. This role provides the chance to have a good level of involvement in files from the get go, with a strong pathway for progression in place which will see you take on greater responsibility for more complex matters as you grow in the role. Working closely with the partners, the work will have a greater focus on the medical sector as well as other general areas of litigation involving contentious insurance matters such as statutory liability, professional indemnity, construction and building claims, advising on subrogated recoveries, and investigations.

Ideally, you will have:
  • 3+ years litigation experience gained in a well-regarded practice, in-house in the medico-legal field, within insurance litigation or general civil litigation skills;
  • An interest in Medico-law (prior experience in this area is not necessary, rather advantageous);
  • A team player that enjoys collaborating with others;
  • An analytical mind with good drafting skills and client relationship management capabilities; and
  • Good academic transcript of at least a B average.
Perhaps you are currently working in another area of litigation and are looking to gain exposure or more experience within the medico-law space or keen to be a part of a forward thinking team where you can build on your insurance, civil and medico-legal skills.
