A respected Auckland CBD firm is growing its team and looking for a Junior Family Lawyer with at least one year of experience in family law. Legal Aid work makes up the bulk of their practice, and they’re after someone who thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

• Work primarily in family law, with the option to take on criminal or civil matters if interested
• 95% of work is Legal Aid (cases allocated based on urgency and capacity)
• Regular court work across Auckland (excluding Pukekohe)
• Open-plan office with strong team support and active supervision
• File clinics, peer mentoring, and collaborative problem-solving are built into how the team operates

What you need to bring:

• 1–2 years’ PQE in family or criminal law (this isn’t a role for new grads)
• Legal Aid registration (supervised status for family is fine)
• Full licence and a car required (parking is covered)
• Confidence in court and a desire to keep learning
• A collaborative approach, this is a close-knit, open team
• A genuine interest in Legal Aid work and supporting vulnerable clients
