About the Organisation: 
  
This role is with a well-established organisation that has been a household name in the sports and entertainment industry. In this role, you'll mentor a couple of junior Legal Counsels and report into a supportive GC so you'll be well resourced to carry out the role. Day to day work will involve reviewing, drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, sponsorship agreements, marketing related agreements, IT related agreements and advising on consumer law and competition law matters as well as privacy matters. The business works with external Counsel when specialist capabilities are required.

The ideal person will have:

• 7+ years PQE with sound commercial drafting and negotiation skills with regulatory experience being a bonus; 
• A background within a reputable commercial legal team within a firm, with in-house or secondment experience being highly valued;
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; 
• Pragmatism to apply the law to a business understanding its risk profile and helping to achieve commercial objectives; and
• Ability to hold a current NZ Practicing certificate.
