Job description

The Firm & Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to accelerate your legal career with a reputable CBD full service firm in their commercial construction law team. This is a growing area where you'll be involved in front end construction matters including procurement agreements, services and consultancy agreements, advising on construction and development projects and joint venture arrangements. There may be some broader general commercial law work involved too.

Dedicated to your professional development, you will be provided with the right amount of support and autonomy to develop your legal career and hone in on your technical skillset in the construction law field.

About you:
  • 0-2 year PQE where you are already admitted to the bar (or very soon to be admitted to the bar i.e. the role is not suitable for a law student unfortunately);
  • Ideally you will have some experience working in a law firm - whether in an administrative capacity or as a law clerk;
  • A strong interest in commercial law broadly where the construction area is an area you could see yourself growing in;
  • Driven to develop a successful legal career;
  • A good academic record (B average or higher is required).
You may be a recent graduate with an interest in construction law looking to hit the ground running in a full service firm but as part of a specialist team, or you may be a junior lawyer that has an interest in the commercial law field with an interest in construction, and looking for a role where there are real growth prospects and ability to have good mentorship.

Get in touch to see if this could be your next move for 2022.

For further information, email your CV and a copy of your academic record to pippa@colegal.co.nz or click APPLY now. If your background is of interest, we will be back in touch within the next 2 weeks.
