Job description

The Firm:

As a trusted national law firm, our client’s workload is consistently busy in the employment law and H&S space where no two days are the same. They are now looking to hire a Senior Associate-level Lawyer to join its team, as a 2IC to the partners, and someone with the ability to help foster mentorship with juniors in the team. This is a firm with an established brand in the market and is led by an experienced partnership that cares about the development of its staff. As a firm that has a progressive and collaborative approach to working, you'd be joining a supportive working environment where you'd have the right resources in place to excel your career.

If you have a need for part time hours or some flexibility in the role, the firm is open to discussion around this as that would be a possibility.

The Position:

As a senior Lawyer with employment experience, you will be dealing with employment-related matters, both contentious and non-contentious. Whether it be representing clients in complex disciplinary investigagtions and performance management meetings, preparing for an ERA case, or advising clients through internal restructuring and policy matters. You'll have client contact and the chance to take a lead on files.

About You:
  • 7+ years PQE in employment law gained within a reputable firm, in-house or ER role;
  • Experience leading mediations and ideally hearing based experience too;
  • Experience working with employer clients on complex matters; and
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
Perhaps you aren’t gaining as much progression in your current firm as you could be or are interested in a diverse role at a firm that promotes career development. Likewise if you're a lawyer overseas, looking for the right opportunity back in NZ, then get in touch.
