As a trusted firm with its roots in the North Island, but servicing clients nationally, our client is on the hunt for an experienced employment lawyer to join its team. This is a firm led by expert employment lawyers that cares about the development of their staff and have a pathway for it - they'll provide you with autonomy and support. The majority of the work is representing employer clients and businesses but there is some employee client representation work too. 
  
The Position:
  
As an intermediate or senior lawyer with employment law experience, you will be dealing with employment-related matters ranging from employment law advice, health and safety work, restructuring advice, representing clients at mediations, ERA and Employment Court hearings, working on PG claims and performance management matters, policy updates to collective bargaining matters. You will work with a diverse clientele, across a range of industry sectors. There will be support from the partners and other seniors as well as a career path for your progression.
  
About You:

• 3+ years PQE in employment law (if employment was part of your general practice/litigation experience that will also be considered as well as if you are coming from an in-house / ER background);
• Experience in leading hearings and mediations preferred;
• Strong interpersonal skills and pragmatism; and
• High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
