Job description

The Opportunity & Firm

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist commercial property team within a leading NZ practice. Our client operates across a wide range of specialties and works with a well recognised portfolio of corporates, developers, investors and high net-worth clients. Formed from an ex-top tier partnership, their property team has a strong set foundation of expertise and is now looking to hire a junior to intermediate level lawyer who can continue to drive the success of the firm by acting on various property matters. There will be strong mentorship from two partners so that you can quickly grow your skills.

This role has a unique mix of work including: drafting property-related contracts, acting for developers on subdivisions, advising on commercial leasing matters, property finance and securities work, easements, acquisitions under the Public Works Act, commercial property acquisition and disposals, residential conveyancing, and providing strategic advice to clients.

The team is one that works collaboratively, has a sense of humour while doing top quality work.

About you
  • 2-5 years' PQE property experience (you may have property experience as part of your overall mix of work);
  • Strong problem solving and organisational skills;
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team setting; and
  • Keen to be involved in interesting and complex property deals.
This role could suit a top tier lawyer looking for greater substantive involvement in property matters, with client contact and autonomy in files or you may be someone coming from a smaller firm with a mix of residential and commercial property experience where you're now keen to hone in on your commercial property skills - if this sounds like you, make an enquiry now.
