Pallas Capital is one of Australia’s leading real estate debt and equity investment managers. The business was established in 2016 as a direct response to the lack of CRE debt availability for borrower’s requiring debt solutions up to $50 million+. They have successfully invested $5.8 billion since inception.
Pallas Capital has identified a significant gap in New Zealand’s non-bank lending landscape and, as of last year, opened a New Zealand office with an initial focus on lending capital in the sub $30 million space across New Zealand, and in time this mandate is expected to grow to include larger loans and the full suite of products Pallas offers in Australia such as mezzanine debt and preferred equity.

The Role:
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Instructing and managing relationships with external lawyers on loan facility and security agreements, primarily related to property financing as well as development and construction related deals;
- Reviewing agreements, dealing with amendments and checking any changes align with agreed terms as well as dealing with discharge of security interests and updating precedent documents as needed;
- Working effectively with the internal team of Analysts, Loan Settlements team, Origination and Credit teams to collate information, deal with conditions precedent and escalating matters as needed;
- Ensuring the smooth operation of transactions from letter of offer stage to settlement and dealing with post completion matters.
To be considered a strong candidate for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Completed a LLB and have experience working in the NZ legal industry;
- 2+ years’ experience in either banking and finance, commercial and/or property law;
- An organised, team player that thrives in a dynamic working environment;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- A natural affinity for relationship building.
