The Firm & Opportunity

With a mixed generational clientele, the firm has longstanding roots in Central Auckland. Their family law team has a reputation for its pragmatic and client-centric approach, known for it's strong networks and expertise within the area. They now have the exciting opportunity for a Lawyer with at least 4 years experience to come into the team and take on an intermediate or senior role, helping to service a busy workflow of existing clients as well as help to build new relationships within the family law field. 

Joining an experienced team you will have the opportunity to work across a blend of private paying client work involving relationship property, care of child, surrogacies, adoption, PPPR and other family law-related matters working in collaboration and mentorship of a well-respected partners and seniors. Operating with a flat structure, you will have the ability to take ownership of files from start to end with the support of the partner and others in the team, allowing you to further strengthen your advocacy skillset. If you enjoy court work, that will then be on offer.

About you
  • 4+ years PQE experience in family law gained in either working for a family law barrister, in a specialist family law team or you may have  general practice legal experience with a decent amount of family law experience now wanting to focus on this area;
  • Strong interest in family law work; and
  • Empathy with the ability to help navigate clients through tricky situations.
You may be doing a mix of legal aid work and private paying client work and would now like to focus on private paying client work or you may be someone looking to join a larger, successful team where there's room for growth - either way, get in touch to find out more.
