Job description

We are working closely with a leading employment law team that has a national presence and is looking to bolster its team with a 2IC employment lawyer. The team is recognised for its depth of experience, collaborative culture, and high-quality work.

About the opportunity
This is a senior opportunity within a high-performing team that advises a wide range of employers, including large corporates, government agencies, and international businesses on all aspects of employment law. 

You will be working on a mix of litigation, advisory, and corporate transactional work working with household names and  leading employers across the public and private sectors, both in Aotearoa and internationally. You’ll advise on restructures, investigations, grievances, employment agreements, health and safety, privacy, and collective bargaining. You’ll also act in mediations and have matters that may go before the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.

The size of the team allows lawyers to specialise or broaden their experience, depending on their interests. The work is often complex, high-profile profile and nationally significant.

About You
You’ll have solid employment law experience with some gained within a reputable law firm environment and keen to work alongisde the best - whether you're currently working in-house and interested in a move back into a firm or you're keen to level up, get in touch to find out if this is for you. 

You’ll be confident advising clients, keen to keep developing, and enjoy working closely with colleagues at all levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with good judgment and the ability to build relationships.
