The firm has strong client connections across the Bay of Plenty and wider NZ. Working with both small and large corporate businesses as well as employees, they are highly regarded for their expertise in providing top-quality employment law solutions to clients with a genuine and pragmatic approach.

As they continue to expand their team, they are now looking for a Lawyer with at least 1 year of employment law and/or relations experience to join their team and help service clients around the Bay of Plenty Region.

The Role:

Acting for a mix of employer and employee clients, the work will involve restructuring advice, disciplinary investigations, dealing with PG claims, bullying and discrimination-related matters, policy-related work, and preparing for mediations and ERA Hearings as well as Health and Safety related work.

You will have a good level of involvement in matters from the beginning with the right access to support and guidance from highly regarded Partners. A structured plan is in place for your training and career progression and your efforts will be recognised.

About you:
  • 1+ years PQE in employment law (if employment law forms a part of your general litigation background, but you'd like to specialise in employment law, we'd also like to consider you. If you have worked in-house in ER/employment law role and want to take your skills into a law firm, that'll be of interest);
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills;
  • A strong interest in employment law and developing your career in this area; and
  • Be NZ Qualified admitted lawyer.
Perhaps you're looking to move out of a bigger city and settle regionally while looking to progress your career with an established specialist team. Likewise, you may be working in a role where you've worked on a mix of employment law and other legal matters and now be looking to specialise within the employment law area. Either way, get in touch with us today.
