Job description

A unique opportunity for a part-time Commercial Property Lawyer has come up in our client’s growing commercial property team due to increased workloads. Our client is a full-service practice that takes a progressive approach with clients and staff and they have a strong reputation in the market as a result. They have had continued growth in the last year and are looking for a senior lawyer that can assist with overflow work and assist with mentoring juniors. The team has good support systems in place so a part-time person who has the ability to work with a decent level of autonomy and independence will work well for their needs.

The role

Day-to-day you will work autonomously on complex commercial property acquisitions and disposals, due diligence for development projects, commercial leasing, property finance work and overseas investment matters. You’ll get client contact from day one, working with a range of clients - from developers to overseas investors, to private companies and state-owned entities.

The hours for this position can be structured around you and your schedule so anywhere from 20 – 30 hours per week would work in the team, but this is just a guide and not cast in stone.

Ideally you will have:
  • 7+ years PQE commercial property legal experience;
  • The ability to work with a good level of independence and autonomy, but with partner support;
  • Experience gained in well-regarded firms; and
  • NZ qualified lawyer.

If you’re currently working full-time and would like a more flexible role where you get reduced hours while still being involved in quality work then this is the position for you. Alternatively, you could be re-entering the legal market or be a working parent that would value a role that provides greater flexibility and part-time hours to suit your lifestyle.

Either way, get in touch to find out more about the role and how it could work for you.
