Job description

This General Practice is seeking a legal secretary experienced in residential and commercial property that has worked on commercial leases and some business transactions. This is working with an easy-going, fun, and engaging partner that makes the office a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere

About the Role:

You will be the dedicated support to the Commercial Partner and you will be involved from start to end on residential conveyancing files, have exposure to finance-related work, commercial leasing, business transactions, and the chance to develop your drafting skills. On a day to day you will be responsible for:
  • Opening and managing client files
  • Drafting, editing, and collating legal documents and commercial agreements
  • Preparing LINZ/ edealings and relevant documents for settlement agreements
  • Liaising with internal and external departments (banks, agents, Council etc)
  • Compiling month-end billing for authors
  • Diary and email management for the Partner
Therefore if you are currently a junior legal secretary that is wanting to further develop your career then this may be the exciting opportunity you have been waiting for with scope for growth!

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to become more involved with the files that they are working with, where you will organise your author's workflow, and who is keen to further enhance their property career. So if you have been waiting for an opportunity that will allow you to work autonomously and offers scope for growth then this may just be what you have been waiting for!

About You:
  • Minimum 2-3+ years as a legal secretary in a property team;
  • A proactive approach and have the 'get up and go' required to complete tasks quickly and make the lives of the team easier;
  • Learning fast on the job, with good I.T. systems skills - having experience in running files from start to finish will stand you in good stead in this role.
  • Can communicate well and work with authors with different working styles
What's on Offer:

This firm has a good work/life balance, a well-supported people driven firm, where staff are appreciated and valued. You will receive:
  • $60000 - $70000 + Kiwisaver (based on experience)
  • Monday - Friday 8.30 - 5.00 with some flexibility is available
  • Full training and induction
