This Blenheim law firm is seeking a Lawyer at Senior Solicitor or Associate level with 3-7 years' PQE to join its growing litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of files and gain direct exposure to clients and court work from early on, with a clear progression pathway forward in a highly regarded firm. 

The Opportunity
This role gives you the opportunity to join a close-knit litigation team working directly alongside a Partner with the support of a National team. There’s a high level of autonomy in this role while still providing strong mentoring and support.

The Marlborough clientele is quite relationship focused and you’ll have the opportunity to develop your brand and career in the community in a role that has a particular focus on relationship property and complex civil litigation. You’ll have the opportunity to work across:

• Relationship property disputes
• Trust and estate litigation
• General civil and commercial disputes
• Contractual and property-related disputes
• Mediation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution
• District Court and High Court proceedings

As part of a smaller team, you'll be trusted with meaningful responsibility from day one, including managing files, advising clients, attending mediations, supporting court appearances and contributing to business development initiatives.


About You
We're interested in hearing from lawyers with:

• 3-7 years' post-qualification experience
• A current New Zealand practising certificate
• Litigation experience gained in private practice
• Experience in relationship property matters
• Strong drafting, advocacy and communication skills and confidence in court
• Sound judgement and a practical, client-focused approach
