Job description

About the firm:

This is a fantastic opportunity to align your career with Fee Langstone - a specialist litigation firm with an insurance focus. Based in the heart of the CBD, they offer a vibrant, fun and social team dynamic. They have a cohesive working culture where staff feels valued and recognised. The Partners ensure that work is distributed fairly and evenly amongst the support staff and are focused on ensuring the team's success. The Partner's are seeking a Legal Secretary/PA that thrives on being the backbone of the team and is willing to help.

About the Role:

Supporting two senior Partners and a small team of solicitors, you will be based in a team that runs at a fast pace and in a deadline driven work environment. You will be liaising with clients and assisting with their initial queries as well as working with court registrars on all submitted case files. On a day to day you will be responsible for:
  • Word processing - drafting letters and documents as well as transcribing digital dictation (this is not a dictation heavy role though)
  • Diary management for the Partner, organising evening functions and industry events and seminars as well as general PA duties in organising personal travel arrangements, appointments, and other personal engagements
  • Collating electronic bundling for district and high courts as well as witness statements, affidavits evidence, and exhibits
  • Assisting authors with end of month accounts and billing, as well as any other ad hoc office duties and administration tasks
About You:
  • Previous experience within a law firm is essential for this role, and may suit an intermediate legal secretary looking to take a step up in responsibility in a role with growth
  • Advanced typing skills, as well as demonstrated efficiency in Microsoft Suite with relevant legal software knowledge
  • Organised, methodical, and systematic in your approach to your work as you will be managing the Partner's diary as well as managing multiple conflicting deadlines at any one time
  • Team and client focused, willing to exceed expectations and be proactive
This role requires someone who is able to adapt to change, switched on, and able to deliver on deadline. You will be supported in your role by your peers at work to ensure that workloads are manageable and able to be delivered on time.

Not only will you be working with some of the top lawyers in their field but also a firm that has a low staff turnover and a fun working environment. They offer a family friendly working culture where legal support team members are encouraged to experience a work life balance and are continually rewarded by annual reviews and other benefits, as well as a competitive salary.
